Following the launch of ‘Guardians’, the groundbreaking docuseries from Prince William and United for Wildlife, The Royal Foundation is announcing a new partnership with Adventure Cinema to screen episodes over the summer.
The series, launched last month, highlights the vital work of rangers and seeks to redefine their role as the frontline protectors of nature. Each six to ten minute episode offers exclusive access to the lives of rangers as they work to protect endangered wildlife and fragile ecosystems. From the snowy mountains of the Himalayas to the remote rainforests of Brazil, audiences will get to see both the beauty of the landscapes which inspire their commitment, as well as the dangers of protecting these often-unforgiving environments.
Guardians was the brainchild of Prince William, who has seen first-hand the critical work of rangers and the threats they face as they urgently work to conserve biodiversity and ecosystems. Each episode, to which The Prince has voiced the trailer and introduction, aims to showcase these unsung heroes and highlight how their work impacts us all.
Central to the ambition of the series is to introduce new audiences to the critical, yet often unseen or misunderstood work of nature’s protectors around the world. The partnership with Adventure Cinema is therefore an integral part of that mission to broaden the reach of the series, and share some of the awe-inspiring stories of people at the heart of conservation.
Over the summer, Adventure Cinema will screen the trailer of Guardians at over 280 screenings, and 57 venues across the UK, with an estimated footfall of over 200,000 people. As each episode is released, they will also be premiered at 16 of their Friday screening events in some of the country’s most breathtaking venues, from Ludlow Castle to the Eden Project and Kew Gardens.
Amanda Berry, CEO of The Royal Foundation said:
“We are delighted to be partnering with Adventure Cinema to bring ‘Guardians’ to the big screen, sharing the untold stories of rangers and nature’s protectors. The courage, commitment, and dedication of these guardians of nature are vital to the survival of the world’s most precious ecosystems, yet their jobs are one of the most dangerous on the planet. By sharing these films in new and unexpected places, we hope to inspire deeper understanding, recognition, and support for conservation efforts worldwide.”
Ben Lovell, CO-Director of Adventure Cinema said:
“‘All of us at Adventure Cinema are proud to be supporting such an important cause and are thrilled that we can bring this powerful series of stories to our audiences across the country, and hope that we can help to make a difference by doing so.”
The full programme of Adventure Cinema screenings can be found on their website.
